The contest for journalists "Every drop of water counts - Lake Baikal"

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the company "Coca-Cola" with the information support of the magazine "Photo & Video," a contest for the best radio and TV reports, pictures and publications on the theme "Every drop of water counts! '.
The contest received publications, photographs and radio and TV reports that reveal the theme of vulnerability of aquatic ecosystems and careful attitude to the water as an essential resource for the life of the planet that have been published / aired in 2009-2010.

The purpose and content of the competition: The aim of the competition - to promote the professional media coverage of water conservation issues, as well as attract the attention of the Russian public to the problem. The idea of ​​competition has arisen due to the fact that UNDP and the company "Coca-Cola" launched a joint project, "Every drop matters - Lake Baikal." In addition, the competition is timed to take place in 2010 the International Year of Biodiversity.

The competition is held in three categories:

A. Best picture
The photos in JPEG. Make sure the presence of the author negatives or files with high resolution (300 dpi, ~ 20x30 cm) for organizing the exhibition. Placement of the inscriptions with the name and surname on the photographs themselves are not allowed.

Two. Best TV report, or running commentary
The maximum duration - 10 min. Accepted files are no more than 5 MB, or links to material on the Internet laid out. Footage taken as the DVD / miniDV tapes in PAL format 720 × 576, 25 frames / sec, MPEG2, compression of 8000 kb / s, the sound of 224 kb / sec.

Three. Best Publication
Accepted materials with reference to a publication in print and online publications. Entries will be judged jury, which will be attended by professional journalists and photographers, as well as representatives of the organizers of the competition. Materials will be evaluated on the following criteria:

· Original filing

In each category will be selected three winners. The prize for the participant, who took first place in each category - a trip to Lake Baikal. For the other winners and prizes are provided.

Lake Baikal is one of the largest freshwater lakes in the world and included in the list of natural heritage by UNESCO. Meanwhile, a growing threat to the aquatic ecosystem of Lake Baikal is a waste, industrial activities and unregulated tourism. The project "Every drop matters - Lake Baikal" in Russia will work to reduce water pollution in the Lake Baikal region, supporting local initiatives in the field of eco-tourism, as well as the implementation of educational programs for local communities to preserve water resources.
