The Russian Orthodox Church in Mongolia

Can you imagine a priest on skates - in full hockey gear? Agree that it is not too familiar. It was such a priest can be found in Ulan Bator. Himself abbot of a single Orthodox church in Mongolia Holy Trinity parish, the priest directs the Mongolian Trumpeter Alex club Bandy.
Father Alex (Trumpeter) arrived in Mongolia in 2005. And his main problem considered the construction of an Orthodox church in Ulan Bator. President of Mongolia supported the idea of building a Russian Orthodox church. Despite many difficulties, succeeded his father Alex for two years to build the temple of the Holy Trinity in the capital of Mongolia.
In the entire history of Russian Orthodoxy in Mongolia since the 19th century, while the Orthodox churches were built, but these religious buildings ever created, but in today's UB church, of course, one of the best architectural structures.
The new church in the parish has two churches: the main high - in honor of the Holy Trinity, baptismal lower - in honor of St. Innocent of Irkutsk. The current active home church was dedicated in honor of St. Sergius. On the territory of the Holy Trinity parish is a park with children's and sports fields. Design led Mongolian company "Tamiryn Shuguy", and construction - the Russian-Mongolian company "Inconnu". Major funding carried out the joint venture "Erdenet".
Worship in the church is in Church Slavonic and Mongolian languages.
"Our church - the only Orthodox church in all Mongolia, - the priest says Alex Trumpeter. - Of course, our objective - to provide spiritual support for Russian, Ukrainians, Belarusians and other Orthodox countries, working in Mongolia. But it can not be done without relying on the local population. And this, of course, the Mongols and permanently residing in Mongolia, Russian. When the children come to the Mongolian Orthodox parish, even if it does not alter the faith, but also learn about the church, told his parents about it - it's a big deal. For five years, for example, in my area for many Mongolians have learned where the Orthodox church, and that I Orthodox priest. The locals suggest even coming to the Russian way. "
At Holy Trinity parish Children's sports club is very popular, and the Mongolian, and Russian children. There are two sections: hockey and boxing. Thus, in the section deal with Russian hockey for more than 40 boys, of whom formed the Mongolian Club "Trinity." He takes part in competitions of different levels and gives great hope. The head of the club's father Alex, too, goes to the ice to support their charges.
"I'm not a coach - emphasizes the priest. - Now, unfortunately, because of financial difficulties at the Mongolian team are currently no professional coach. The boys themselves are trained. And I'm just a big fan of hockey with the ball. I remember as a child moved to skate well. It took so many years. And here, in Mongolia, where the idea of a hockey team, first went secretly at night to regain the skills of skating. And having gained strength and confidence in their abilities, appeared before the kids. I get great pleasure when I go out on the hockey field. And for children it is important that they saw that even though I am not a professional, but also go out to play with them. I support them not only in some organizational issues, but also physically, as in ice skating in winter and roller-skating in the summer. "
Generally, in Mongolia, team sports are not very advanced. Yes, this is understandable. Here, of course, well-spread fighting, archery and horse riding. Nevertheless, Russian hockey has taken root. In the Mongolian team is already very good performance on the presentations at international and interregional competition. Thus, in the tournament for the prizes Hockey Federation of Russia among the youth teams, which was held in Krasnoyarsk, the Mongolian team, "Trinity" took third place. For a developing young team is a good result. The speakers at the World Championships in Moscow, and in front - a serious test in Canada ...
"Based on our teams are formed and youth, and youth teams of Mongolia, - said the father of Alex. - Our team of Bandy - the only in Mongolia. The team showed its resilience, there is hope for the future development of Russian hockey in Mongolia. Several dozen kids who truly love their sport and brought to him - that's means a lot. "
Last year the club "Trinity" has created the federation, which is called the "Mongolian National Federation of bandy." It is recognized Mongolia's Minister of Sport and recorded as an organization that will represent the team in Mongolia.

Junior team captain, "Trinity" Boris Chernyaev - half Russian, half-Mongol, who has resided in Mongolia - incidentally, the first Mongolian-ringer in the bell tower of Holy Trinity parish. He quickly learned the basics of art of ringing.

Adopted Orthodoxy goalkeeper "Trinity" Batsuh Dashnyam. During a speech for the "Trinity" Dasha, so lovingly call it guys, repeatedly saved the goal. His devotion to the game, sometimes to the sacrifice, he gained the deserved respect of team members. In baptism he was named in honor of the prophet Daniel. Not an easy task now facing the goalkeeper: because it is necessary to protect not only the gate of "Trinity", but keep the faith in the Holy Trinity, and there will be not only the goalkeeper, but the striker, to preach the word of God among the Gentiles. Well, it was also the patron saint in a pagan environment and manage it successfully.
