The monument was created by sculptor famous Buryat Gennady Vasiliev, previously carved Buddha statue, which is installed at the entrance to the area and sculpture Dzhidinsky Burin-Khan, set at the foot of the holy mountain of the same name.

A monument in the Dzhida steppe, about 3 km from the village of Lower Ichetu, a few hundred meters from the road, "Ulan-Ude - Zakamensk" at Mount Sarbaduy-Hutul. The sculpture looks towards the mountains Burin-Khan.
At the opening ceremony of the monument was attended by Speaker of the People's Hural of Buryatia Gershevich Matthew, head of the presidential administration and government of Buryatia, Peter Sox, the head of the district Dzhida Batodorzhiev Vitali, director of the Institute for Mongolian, Buddhist and Tibetan Studies of SB RAS Boris Bazarov, the deputies of the People's Hural of Buryatia, senior officials and public figures , scientists, and businessmen. SUMMARY:
The first Buryat scholar Banzarov Dorji was born in 1822 in a family of Cossack Selenga Buryats Ichetuyskogo Soum Duma steppe Trans-Baikal region.
He graduated from the Russian-Mongolian Kyakhta school. Among the few Buryat boys was sent to Kazan Gymnasium, which he successfully graduated and enrolled at the University of Kazan. There he studied Oriental languages - Mongolian, Kalmyk, Manchu, Sanskrit, Turkish. Fluent reading writing in German, English, French and Latin. Researched the history of the peoples of Central Asia, their way of life, literature, religious beliefs.
In 1846 he graduated from the University of Kazan Banzarov. He was a disciple of the largest oriental Osip Mikhailovich Kovalevsky, one of the founders of scientific Mongolian. In the same year published his work "The Black Faith, or Shamanism of the Mongols."
In the 1847-1849 years. Banzarov conducted research at the Asian Museum in St. Petersburg. In 1848 he published the work "Paytsze, or metal plates to the commands of the Mongol khans."
Dorji Banzarov - author of "Universal Geography" and "Mongolian grammar" in the Mongolian language. First published work - the article "White Month. Celebrating the new year the Mongols "(1846).
In the 1850-1855 years. served as an officer on special assignments for the Governor-General of Eastern Siberia, Nikolai Muraviev-Amur. During this period Banzarov published work "The explanation of the Mongolian inscription on the monument to Prince Isunke, nephew of Genghis Khan" (1851), dedicated to the interpretation of the inscriptions on the "Genghis stone." During trips to Siberia become acquainted with the Decembrists, NA Bestuzhev painted his portrait. He lived in Kyakhta, Chita.
Unfortunately, the life of this eminent scientist was short-lived. At the age of 33 years in 1855, he died and was buried in Irkutsk, in the XIX century, his tomb was lost.
Dorji Banzarov made an invaluable contribution to Russian and world science, doing original research in the field of philology, religion, history and philosophy. He introduced European science with many monuments of the Mongol peoples. He was well educated, critically analyze all the work on the history of Mongolia and Buryatia, written in different languages. The legacy of the scientist has not lost its significance today, it is studied, commented upon and is not out of the scientific revolution.
In 1947 the name Dorji Banzarov named Buryat Pedagogical Institute, now - the Buryat State University.
In 1957 the institute was in front of a monument to the work of sculptors Vampilov AR and AI Timina.
In the name of Dorji Banzarov named streets in the cities of Ulan-Ude, Irkutsk, Kazan, and Kyakhta.
In December 2007, the district administration has established a Dzhida Prize Dorji Banzarov for gifted and talented students in the district who have achieved good results in various fields.
